Indoor Grass AreaHousebreaking is the most essential thing that you need to teach your puppy. Of course you want your house to remain clean and neat, so you have to do a good job with your puppy. Otherwise your home will smell like a public toilet.
The suitable age for a puppy to learn housebreaking is from 8 to 12 weeks. It is highly recommended to start training him at that age. There are many helpful methods in potty training for your dog. The most commonly used method is the crate. It is a small box similar to a cage, so you can observe your puppy through the bars. When you choose a crate for your dog it must be suitable for his size. There must be a space for him to move. But don’t bring it too wide so he can eliminate in it and sit on the other side. The crate will act like the puppy’s bedroom. It is his private place that he can relax in it and use it as an escape place in case there is a hustle and bustle at home. So, it must be very comfortable for him. Never use it to lock him up.
Usually a 12 weeks puppies need to eliminate every 3 hours. Make sure you take him outside ever 3 hours to eliminate, establishing a routine. When you take him out on regular basis using the same way out and in your puppy will know to go outside.

Watch your puppy carefully, if you start observing some signs like sniffing, going around in the room or looking to the door he is used to get out through, this means that he needs to go out to finish his business.
It is advisable to create a common language between you and your dog that he can easily understand. Having a special word when you want him to go out will help like “Let’s go” and if he did it in the right place don’t forget to praise him or giving him a treat or even pat him.
The most important thing is to be patient with your dog. There are some clues also that might help, like never give your dog a drink before going to sleep. Keep in mind that your puppy needs you to be around so you will be able to take him out. Don’t start breaking the rules and expects him to continue with it.
